Nepal Foresters’ Association (NFA), established in 1974, is one of the leading non-governmental, no-political and not–for profit professional association in Nepal. It is a forum where foresters can bring their collective thoughts and efforts for enhancing the prestige of their profession. Its motto is to establish prosperity and progress of Nepal’s forestry and foresters. It has a mission to see sustainable natural resources conservation and management through scientific approach. The association also guides its members to work in their professional capacity to ensure the continuous flow of productive, protective and social goods and services from land, forests and biodiversity resources for general well being in perpetuity.

The main objectives of NFA are to:
>> help in developing the professional competence of the members;
>> boost the morale of the members;
>> enhance awareness among general public about the importance of the scientific management and conservation of forests, soil and watershed, wildlife and biodiversity;
>> exchange information on forestry and related natural resources issues with national and international institutions;
>> provide expertise services on forestry, and related natural resources and environmental issues to persons, institutions and/or government.
>> play a leading role in assisting and advising the government to formulate sound natural resources management policies; and
>> organize conferences, workshops, seminars, talk programs to discuss and suggest policy and technical matters on forestry and related natural resources issues.
>> conduct research activities in forestry, natural resource management and environmental issues.
General Assembly
All general and life members of NFA together constitute the General Assembly. It is convened at least once in a year. The General Assembly is the supreme body that guides, directs and controls the executive committee.
